UHN - Escalation of Care project

As a placement student, I embarked on my first project, which involved designing simple icons for 10 health symptoms. 

As the project progressed, the design advisor provided me with more details. During the initial phase, which focused on icon development, I encountered several challenges when attempting to convey complex health conditions using black and white simple line icons. For instance, representing changes in skin color from normal to pale was particularly challenging due to Canada's multiculturalism, as it could be misleading for some race groups with varying skin tones.

To overcome these challenges, I collaborated with patient education language specialists. They helped revise the words and content to reflect the intended message, using clean, concise, and precise wording.
